MICROSCOPIC SPINE SURGERY

Microscopic spine procedure is another minimally invasive spine surgery. This technique involves a small incision of approximately 3 to 4 cm and unilateral approach to the pathological spinal level. A microscope is the attached over the incision and the rest of the procedure is done under magnification. Even though the procedure involves unilateral approach, bilateral complete decompression can be achieved using the ‘Over the Top’ method of decompression. This procedure is ideally indicated for patients with chronic multi-level disease or patients undergoing revision surgeries.
